English for Brazilians

english for brazilians

This OUBS project aims to support Brazilians residing in Oxfordshire who wish to learn and/or develop skills in the English language (speaking, listening, reading and writing). It provides the necessary tools and means for them to communicate effectively and confidently in a variety of professional and everyday situations which require the use of English. The course is aimed at adult learners who have had little or no previous instruction in the English language. Using Brazilian Portuguese as the initial medium of instruction, the course consists of weekly sessions held over the Oxford University terms. Each session presents a relevant grammar point, and encourages the students to practice it through different types of activities. The students are also expected to access complementary resources and do extra exercises at home, during and in between Oxford University terms. The course is free of charge, and is designed especially for those who are not currently enrolled as students in the University (professionals, homemakers, and retirees).
