Brief Bio: Maria Paula Prates, a medical anthropologist specialising in Indigenous Peoples from Lowland South America, particularly the Guarani-Mbyá communities in southern Brazil and Argentina, focuses on women's perceptions of personhood, body territory, and living well. Her research encompasses topics such as midwifery practices and their interactions with the colonial aspects of the Anthropocene.
